Emergency First Aid for Sports is a one day course covers what to do in an emergency situation Sport Focused. It is for anyone who wants to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment. This course is an educational service, ideal for Coaches, Trainers, and Clubs.
Able to deliver course in Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire, this course is delivered to a maximum of 12 people and everyone will receive a course book. By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to:
• Understand the role and responsibility of a first aider.
• Assess an incident including conducting a primary survey.
• Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
• Help a casualty who is having a seizure.
• Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally.
• Administer CPR including using a defibrillator.
• Recognise and assist a child or adult who is choking.
• Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Recognise and help a casualty who is in shock (from severe blood loss).
• Help a casualty with a minor injury.
• Help a casualty with a suspected fracture, including Spinal Injury
• Heart Attack
• Head Injury
• Asthma
• Anaphylaxis
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.

This course is an EFAW + F, forestry specific course. It tailors the standard Emergency First Aid at Work content specifically for forestry workers and covers the additional topics required by the Forestry Commission i.e. severe bleeding, crush injuries, hypothermia and Lymes disease. Courses can be delivered in the Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire area.
The course is delivered to a maximum of 12 people and everyone will receive a course book and materials. By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to:

This specially designed programme has been adapted from the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work Certified Course to meet the needs of people who work within a school setting.

The syllabus includes all content from the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course and includes additional subjects likely to be faced by first aiders working within a school.

The 7 Hour Sports First Ai d course complies with the agreed Scottish Youth Football Association , Sports First Aid Qualification criteria.

• Carry out a secondary survey.
• Help a casualty who is having a seizure.
• Help a casualty who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally.
• Administer CPR including using a defibrillator.
• Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
• Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Recognise and help a casualty who is in shock.
• Help a casualty with a minor injury.
• Help a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
• Help a casualty with suspected head, face, and spinal injuries including concussion.
• Help a casualty with burns and scalds.
• Help a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis.
• Help a casualty who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat or cold
• Help a casualty with suspected major illness – including:
o Heart Attack
o Stroke
o Epilepsy
o Asthma
o Diabetes
