Paediatric First Aid & Emergency First Aid at Work Blended - 6 hours e-learning & 6 hours class base

 This blended Paediatric + Emergency First Aid at Work course (6 hours Online / 6 hours face to face) covers what to do in an emergency first aid situation with babies, young children, and Adults. It is for anyone working with and caring for babies, young children, and Adults, including nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, and schools. 

 This first aid course meets the Ofsted Early Years, Childcare Register and HSE workplace requirements. The course is delivered to a maximum of 12 people, and everyone will receive a course book.  

By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to: 

• Understand the role and responsibility of a first aider. 

• Assess an incident including conducting a primary survey. 

• Help a casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally. 

• Help a casualty who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally. 

• Help a casualty who is having a seizure. 

• Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking. 

• Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding. 

• Recognise and help a casualty who is in shock. 

• Help a casualty who is suffering from anaphylaxis. 

• Help a casualty who has had an electric shock. 

• Help a casualty with burns or scalds. 

• Help a casualty with a suspected fracture. 

• Help a casualty with a head, neck, or back injury. 

• Provide first aid to a casualty who has been poisoned. 

• Provide first aid to a casualty with a foreign body in their eyes, ears, and nose. 

• Provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury. 

• Help a casualty who has been bitten or stung. 

• Help a casualty who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat or cold. 

• Help a casualty with a serious medical condition. 

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.
